I'm Going To Uganda

It's been almost a week since I found out where I will be this coming summer. It won't be at home. It won't be at the engineering firm that I have been at for the past two summers. It won't even be in the United States. This summer, I will be in Uganda.

This blog will document the journey from here forward. Due to the less than optimal communications network in Uganda, it may end when I leave. If you are still interested at that point, you can email me and I'll email you updates instead of this handy site where anyone in the entire universe can find them.

I applied to be a Red Box Missionary somewhat sure of what I wanted to do if I was accepted. I wanted to use engineering for missions, but I wasn't totally sure how I wanted to do that. I had been looking for an organization for quite some time. I had come across eMi before and as I looked into them more, I felt that it would be a good fit. I had contacted eMi even before I had applied for Red Box. I had been thinking about serving with them whether or not I had the funding from Grove City College to do so. However, over Thanksgiving Break 2005, I found out that I had been selected as a Red Box Missionary.

Over the next few posts, I'll over you reasons why I chose eMi and why I chose Uganda. Check out the links on the right side of this page and explore the Grove City Red Box Program, eMi USA, and eMi East Africa.
